For Windows Messaging option in 32-bit version, the profile chosen during the last Setup session is selected for the current Setup session.
Placement of Setup pages in 16-bit version is improved when running under Windows NT/2000.
Registration key allowed in executable directory, as well as in starting directory. This fix was supposed to have been introduced in Version 4.3, but contained a bug.
Clear/Show (Alt-F10) works correctly when window is maximized.

Fixed bugs that occurred when filters were enabled, and deletion confirmation and logging were both disabled.
Version 4.2a:
"Clear on minimize" option clears WinBiff when the window is minimized.
"Autominimize after" option minimizes the window a specified number of seconds after mail arrives.
"Restart WinSock" option restarts WinSock on each poll, cueing WinSocks such as Trumpet to dial and hangup.
Fixed IMAP4 bug introduced in version 4.2, where mailboxes were opened with EXAMINE when delete filters were used.
Fixed bug with some Pegasus Mail installations where WinBiff reacted as if new mail had arrived after messages were deleted.
Version 4.2:
Filter and WAVBase entries allow matching on regular expressions. These entries are stored in separate files, not in the .INI, and the restrictions on using "=" and "#" have been removed.
"Maximize" has been added as a window action.
In the 32-bit version, WinBiff will use an open connection other than the one specified in the Network tab.
WinBiff ignores the extra FLAGS response given by the VMS IMAP4rev1 server when headers are requested.
For Notes, a missing subject header no longer generates an error.
In the 16-bit version, computation of window sizes when going between the header and no-headers window is correct.
After entry of an RAS password, dialling proceeds normally.
Upgrade to InstallShield Express 2.04 fixes problem installing 16-bit version under Windows 98 with Microsoft Intellipoint mouse driver present.
Version 4.1a:
For IMAP4, commands received over multiple packets are properly recognized. When using the "Stay connected" option, WinBiff is able to poll again after an error occurs.
Also for IMAP4, selected headers are requested by a command from the IMAP4rev1 (RFC2060) specification, when the server indicates that it is IMAPrev1-capable. Otherwise, the headers are requested by a command from the older IMAP4 (RFC1730) specification.
For Lotus Notes, when WinBiff is unable to open a message, no header is displayed for that message.
Eliminated page fault that sometimes occurred when no .INI file was present.
Version 4.1:
For IMAP4, the "Stay connected" option reduces network bandwidth usage, and reduces the frequency of sending the login and password. Also, polling time has been significantly reduced by collecting unread status for groups of messages, rather than one message at a time, and by retrieving only the headers that are used.
Unless "Unread only" is selected, Notes mail databases are scanned only when they have been modified since the last scan. For Notes, the correct number of pending messages is shown in the WinBiff caption even when it exceeds the maximum number of headers shown.
The RAS library for dial and hangup is not loaded when a direct connection is specified.
When switching between the headers and no-headers windows sizes, the corner of WinBiff window that is anchored depends on the window's position on the desktop. Formerly, the upper-left corner was always anchored.
The Cubic Circle POP3 server is accomodated. That POP3 server generates mail headers that are noncompliant with RFC822.
Fixed POP3 error caused by multi-packet server greeting.
Dial and hangup work correctly under Windows NT.
Fixed bug introduced in 4.0 where polling of Unix mail spool files and Eudora mailbox files terminated prematurely.
Version information has been added to all files containing executable code. Version information is visible with many Windows utilities, such as DRWATSON.
